Hatsune_Miku.jpg

31st August. Guess what day's today?

From sketch.

Familiar? Know this character? It's Hatsune Miku from vocaloid. And today's her birthday a.k.a. the day of her debut.

Spent only one night on the coloring (for your information, the date written on the picture was the day I sketched this). Really fast, I should say. Therefore, no pretty "happy birthday" words drawn by me, no cake, no candle, no party feel, just plain and simple... I wanted to spend more time on it, but I was busy with work up till today. And today's already her birthday, better upload this picture by today, or there won't be of any use, no?

Oh, and whether you realize or not? This isn't my coloring style. I'm trying out something new. Hahaha. And if you want the lineart, download it here. I uploaded it to my tumblr.

Also, I'm a Malaysian! So today's Malaysia's birthday too! Planned to draw another picture on that if I have enough time, but as you can see, I don't even have enough time for Miku. It definitely have to be a different picture cause it's not suitable to draw Malaysia flag on Miku, since she's from Japan, no? Haha.

Anyway, Happy Birthday to Hatsune Miku and Selamat Hari Merdeka (Happy National Day)!

Chase.jpg

Hi! Guess what? I'm blogging from work! Ah, yes, I'm working. Part-time. In front of a computer. I'll leave you guessing what am I working as. =)

Got so much free time and privacy that I can do whatever I want. Love my job! But when it's busy, it's really busy alright! But I'm hardly busy. Hahahaha. (But this is only temporary, I believe...)

So when I realized there's Adobe Photoshop installed in the computer, I started drawing, again! Never thought I could draw even at work! But, without pencil sketch, no tablet, only Photoshop... I'm drawing everything from sketch in Photoshop! So, don't expect it to be good, okay?

I even try to sign with pentool. Hahaha, see my crooked signature!

Down.jpg

When was the last time I actually hold a pencil and draw? Other than those little sketches on my books or papers during class, I hardly draw anymore anime, nor do I color in Photoshop. Even those little sketches during class decreased so much. I hardly sketch anything now...meaning I sleep more now... =X

This long holiday is getting bored. Cause I don't play computer games. Yes, I do not play computer games! I used to, not anymore. I'm turning into such a good girl yea. Hahaha! So other than outings with friends (you don't expect me to out whole day everyday, do you?), and chores everyday, I spent the rest of my free time at home sitting in front of the computer, BUT DO WHAT? No games, what else can I do other than chatting?

Then after the SS Coloring Contest, I'm finally back on my feet, started playing Photoshop once more! I can't love coloring on Photoshop no more. Oh yes, I'm an anime freak, and I'm back!

With pencil in my hand, I sketched an outline of a girl looking down (down, or you can call it "emo"). But having so long not drawing with pencil, I have to say, my drawing sucks now! Argh! So I'ma just skip to the lineart after processing it with Photoshop.

Feel free to grab the lineart if you like!

After half day of coloring with Photoshop! How I wish to have a tablet! I want to learn to "paint"! I really like those "painting" effect, instead of sharp lines like mine. Only one month left till my holidays end. Better enjoy Photoshop before it's too late!

My First Frozen Yogurt!

Yoohoo~ I ate frozen yogurt! Like, finally! A friend of mine agreed to pay for my frozen yogurt, so it's free! Yum yum yum.

Large strawberry yogurt with pink and green and chocolate topping from Hielo @ Jalan Song. Hahaha, green is Kiwi, chocolate is Dark Chocolate, and pink...I don't know... xp I didn't add waffle cause I don't feel like biting waffle at that moment. But waffle looks better in photo... Oh well, it's the taste that matters! However, I still think yogurt taste nicer than frozen yogurt. Or is it because I ate the strawberry flavor instead of the original?

On the other hand, I also fulfilled one of my all-time dream that night - Civic Centre! For your information, Civic Centre is the only tall building in Kuching that allows you to have a view of the Kuching town. I had always wanted to go to the top most of Civic Centre, but never get the chance to. Why so? Cause Civic Centre is like an abandon building now... =(

You ask me how it feels like going to an abandon building at night? I have to admit, it's C.R.E.E.P.Y! And also, Civic Centre is closed at night. We couldn't get access to the corridor at the top floor, cause it's lock. And not only it's locked, but that place is a total dark! Increased creepiness when you have someone beside you keep telling you scary stuff. ~.~ This is unlike ghost house games where you know all those "ghost" are fake. But what's on my mind at that very moment is not ghost, but bad guys. I'm afraid of seeing bad guys more than ghost. I'm afraid we might stumbled upon some bad people hiding at the stairway "doing stuff". And by that, I mean smoking, taking drugs etc. They could harm you, that's what I'm afraid of!

Though feeling slightly disappointed not being able to access the corridor, but I do enjoy the view from the elevator:

Shaky, and the elevator's moving. My shutter is not fast enough...should had tried "Kids and Pets" mode for faster shutter. But believe me, the night view is nice! I don't understand why they close that place at night... What a waste!

Damai Day Trip!

Didn't I mentioned I had lots of outings lately? Well, not this month, but last month. The furthest I ever go will be Damai.

Photos taken in the shuttle to Damai Beach:

Was forced to take the shuttle to the beach cause we actually went during the Rain Forest event.

The beach! When was the last time I'm here?

Fun time! (Photo stolen from Christine's Facebook. Muahahaha. Don't mind me k?)

(Another photo stolen from Christine)

While in the water, Cassey and Christine took good care of me! Everyone's so afraid that I would get washed off by the wave. Muahahaha. Cassey and Christine have to hold my hands whenever the wave is here. LOL!

Sandcastle building competition going on between the 3 guys after we saw random strangers building sandcastle.

"The Enemy Castle" that started this competition. Hahaha.

Got tortoise somemore! Cute not?

Delton's sandcastle.

Notice this little junk food on top of the castle? Haha, priceless.

Leslie's sandcastle.

Niraaj's sandpyramid? Haha.

And the winner is of course the "Enemy Castle". Hahaha!

One thing I hate about my camera is the focus. Noticed how this photo was focused on both sides instead of the middle? I can't control the focus...it's auto... =(

My name! Written by Fran, who (I just realized) totally didn't appear in my camera. This is my current Facebook cover photo as well as my current desktop wallpaper.

A few jumping photos before the sun sets:

Once again, photo stolen from Christine. Can you spot me?

Del's favorite photo!

I love the sky! Forgot to take a few photos of only the sky and the beach with no human during the sunset...

Christine standing right up...

...on head!

Went to eat at 101 Premiere after the trip. Everyone's tired.

Oh, and that spectacles don't belong to me. =P

Kuching Festival 2012

The yearly Kuching Festival, also known as Food Festival had arrived! I went there last week with 2 of my friends.

See the crowd of people? And this is only weekday! Can you imagine how crowded it will be during weekend? And if you didn't notice the cloud from my photo above, here's one:

Cloud in a straight line, what a sight!

Okay, like I said, Kuching Festival is also known as Food Festival. So basically, Kuching Festival is all about food! So I came out with a "must-eat-list" of my own, though I don't eat every one of the food.

#1: Smelly Toufu/Tauhu

This is something new this year. See everyone's lining up for the smelly toufu. But I dare not try. It smell like shit...

#2: Takoyaki

Another food that I don't try, cause I don't eat squid. But everyone's telling me it's nice. So if you wanna try, buy it from this store:

Japan Boat Takoyaki. Friends said it's the best.

#3: Fried Durian

Just came out last year, I only get to try it this year cause everyone's lining up to buy and it sold out very fast.

#4: Fried Ice-Cream

Had this since so long ago, so it wasn't that popular anymore. But I still buy it every year I go. I think the best part is that you didn't know which flavor will you get.

Now, to introduce some food I had the other day.

Cha-kueh

Candied Haw in a Stick. It's grape dunk in sugar.

Then we went to the "Garden Show" for a walk. Walk with full stomach, better than surrounded by food and felt like vomiting smelling those food due to over-full stomach. Hahaha.

Random photo took while walking. Andy looks like old man with a stick.

The wishing well. This is how Kuching people earn money. Hahaha.

Cute right! Super cute! I saw this little girl when we are leaving. I'm like a stalker, following behind her all the way trying to snap a clear photo of the bag. Then after I completed my "mission", only I found out that the mother was walking beside me all the time (the hand holding a handbag on my left). I wonder if she know I'm stalking her daughter. Hahaha. Cute maaaa~

The only photo all 3 of us took together. Supposed to be only me and YH, then this guy appeared from nowhere. =.=

The last photo taken. In the car. With my best friend, YH. She loves this photo so much!

Sereni & Shentel Coloring Contest

Sereni & Shentel? People who know me will also know I don't give a damn for this hairband. Or rather, I don't use hairbands at all! So why should I bother spending RM100+ for a hairband?

Okay, nevermind that, my title is "Sereni & Shentel Coloring Contest". So, coloring contest! I participated in the SS's coloring contest. The prizes are the hairbands, of course. So you may ask, "thought you don't give a damn for the hairbands?". Yes, I don't give a damn, but come to think of it, their hairbands cost alot! What if I sell them? >) So there goes my motivation to participate in such a coloring contest.

I actually submitted my artwork late, but they still accepted it, cause I got my reason for it. The closing date was on the 1st August, and there's no time stated, so naturally, people would assume the closing time to be at 11.59pm, 1st August. But I got work on that day, so I decided to submit it after I come back from work, which is 10+pm. But just when I'm about to submit, I found out that the submission was closed at 4pm and that they only posted the closing time on that day. I wasn't online the whole day, you can't expect me to know it's closed until when it's too late, right? Due to unsatisfactory, I messaged them my artwork and explained the reason. Being reasonable, they accepted it. Here, take a look at my artwork:

Cherry participated too. In fact, I know this contest from Cherry. She put so much effort in it. You can see her work here. See the details on the hair, and whether or not you realize, she RE-DREW EVERYTHING, cause she removed the outline to make it look 3D. Put in so much effort, and here's the winner:

Comment? Okay, here's mine:

"While I'm coloring it, many questions pop into my mind, "how they decide on the winner?", "how's the marking?"... As you can see, we can use ANY coloring tools. There are color pencils, digitals, or even paper arts. It's unfair to compete between all these different categories. So I thought they might pick a winner from each category and decide who's 1st, 2nd and 3rd. If you want to compete digitally, I believe Cherry's artwork is outstanding, for she's the only one who colored it "3D-ly". But the winners are ALL colored in color pencils! Isn't it unfair for those who color it digitally?"

Cherry is extremely unsatisfied with the result. Not because she didn't win, she's same as me, don't give a damn for that hairband, but, oh, read her blog and you will know. This whole contest just doesn't seem well-planned. However, I do think the 2nd prize deserved to win, so is the 1st. But 3rd?
